A Message from the Principal/CEO:

Now available on our website:
We can now accept payments via PayPal (and Amazon Payments soon) for fees or donations.  If you would like to donate to our school, we use the money to pay for scholarships and activities such as field trips, incentives, and other extras that we provide our students and programs. As we are a 501 (c) (3), all donations are tax deductible and we will furnish you with a letter with our federal tax ID #.

Special event!  The first 75 juniors or seniors that RSVP by December 1st will be able to participate in our 1st Annual Futures Fair to be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, December 10th at MEWA.  We will have representatives from: Fed Ex, UPS, Goodwill, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, Birch Community Services, Mount Hood Community College, Habitat for Humanity, Microchip Marquis Companies, and Gresham Chamber of Commerce.  These representatives will do mock interviews and share employment advice relative to resume building and interviewing skills.

We will be hosting our fall Open House, November 13th beginning at 6:30 PM at our MEWA campus.  Last Spring, the hotdogs proved to be very popular.  As a result, we will serve the hotdogs again along with chips and water.

  • Hello MEWA Parents,

We have only had 11 parents respond so far (thank you so much), We want to give all parents the opportunity to provide feedback and participate in parent groups if they are interested.

Before we make any final decisions regarding the days, times, and locations of future meetings we are asking parents once more to go ahead and respond via the survey link below.

Please help by clicking the link below to provide feedback!

It is a live link similar to our parent weekly check in, please feel free to email, text, call, or stop by and see me in person with any additional questions.

    Excited to see the results,
    Nichole Steele

  • Due Dates and Pacing:
Unfortunately, due dates in Brainhoney are going to continue coming up through Thanksgiving and Christmas Breaks - the technology doesn't allow us to "black out" those dates. So even if you're on pace in your classes right now, if you take those breaks (as you deserve to!) you'll come back some number of assignments behind.

Check your pace chart in your courses to determine where you should be in course to avoid work during these holiday breaks.

  • Plagiarism Problems

We've noticed an increase in copy/pasting from internet sources lately, so we wanted to remind everyone that you are never allowed to copy an answer for a quiz, test or assignment. You can certainly use the internet as a resource, especially for research assignments, but you must put the information into your own words AND cite your sources. We want you to learn the material - copying from the internet simply doesn't help you!

If you have any questions about what constitutes plagiarism or how to cite your sources, contact your teacher! We're here to help.

We are tracking your violations from class-to-class and the repercussions are:

1st Violation: You'll get a temporary 0 and be allowed to retry the assignment
2nd Violation: 0 and allowed retry, plus your parents will be notified that you've been cheating
3rd Violation: Permanent 0 on the assignment, you and your parents will be required to come into the building to meet with Dr. Gray to avoid failing the class entirely

  • ParticiPizza Party for Mentor Seminar!
Introducing our first school-wide competition to complete assignments: a pizza party will be awarded to the mentor group that has the best turn-in percentage for this month’s Mentor Seminar assignments. Starting with Week 6 - Study Habits and going through Week 9’s Netiquette assignment, whichever mentor group that turns in the highest percentage of these assignments will win!
Remember, the Mentor Seminar class is required for all students, but it awards elective credit only if you complete it. Part of each assignment is to respond to 2 of your classmates’ posts, so make sure you’re completing that part as well :)
Good skill! (because luck has nothing to do with it)
